I believe great design lives at the intersection of creative problem solving and storytelling. Currently I'm the Lead Designer at Stanford University Communications, managing visual brand and designing Stanford's main web products, like the University homepage, Stanford News and the Identity Toolkit.
I am looking for a product designer role at an organization with a healthy design culture that believes the best way to make money is putting people first. Hiring? Let's talk.

The Identity Toolkit, which serves as Stanford's style guide, is the visual brand documentation for the University; it is a key resource for providing leadership on visual communications standards. After researching it's efficacy on campus, I saw an opportunity for improvement, and rebuilt the Identity Toolkit with a new architecture and rewritten content.
This redesign represents a shift from enforcement to facilitation by explaining the reasons behind design decisions and sharing design best practices in addition to documenting visual design standards. Since launch, it has reduced support requests by 75%.

Since the 2013 redesign, Stanford's primary web presence had come to feel formal and stodgy - it didn’t communicate the energy and pioneering spirit that our campus community associated with being here.
University Communications partnered closely with Mule Design on discovery and design. The UComm web team and I evolved our new design language and brought this bold new vision to life.
